Hamilton

Coming to you from the finest stages on Broadway and the West End and having already performed in the favorite performance venues around the world, Hamilton is now making an appearance in Providence at Providence Performing Arts Center on Thursday 12th December 2024. Come and see it live as history blends with modern-day originality with creator Lin-Manuel Miranda’s take based on Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography.

The musical narrates the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of the U.S. Founding Fathers, from his earliest days as a young impoverished immigrant to one of the most pivotal leaders in the American Revolution and as the nation’s first Secretary of Treasury. It chronicles a story of love and heartbreak, both in and outside politics, performed by a critically acclaimed cast and crew. Complemented by contemporary music genres of hip-hop, jazz, and R&B, it is a fast-paced production that has been received admirably by viewers both in America and around the globe.

The show will only be playing in Providence Performing Arts Center for a limited time, so grab your tickets today and don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance!

After performances in the world’s most well-known locations such as Broadway itself and London’s West End, Hamilton will now also be playing for a limited season this December in Providence Performing Arts Center of Providence, an especially regarded theatre known for its greatest amenities fit to host world-class productions and shows.

Hamilton honors the life of Alexander Hamilton, conceptualized and scored by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, based off the 2004 biography of Ron Chernow. It retells the real life of Hamilton himself in a ‘hipper’ style, being close to the truth behind his life but with creative direction and musical styles that makes this production highly entertaining. The production originally began off Broadway in the late summer of 2015 and was instantly met with unsurpassed reviews from its premier. Along with a number of critics and reviewers, The Washington Post, called it “making ecstatic history”, as the Musical’s performance with its unsurpassed cast which included the likes of the musical's creator Miranda himself in the title role and Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff, impressed audiences in its premiere with a spectacular production. Hamilton went on over the next decade to earn eleven Tony Awards from 16 nominations, in addition to Olivier, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize Awards.

Ever since its debut, Hamilton has also gone on to be performed in numerous locations across the globe, where it has been receiving continuously great reviews. BroadwayWorld calls Hamilton “the hottest ticket in town”, as it appeals to a broad range in audience due to it being relatable to both the older generations who were interested in the history behind the production, and the newer generations that are drawn to the fresh and innovative concept behind Hamilton. In London’s West End, TimeOut mentions their worry behind the production being overblown, but that “Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical about Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, is actually better than the hype suggests”. More so, recently with a touring cast in its Manila, Philippines’ performance, PEP PH describes Hamilton as a “visual and sensory feast that adds layers of depth to the narrative”; “This musical is a masterpiece not because it tells a flawless story, but because it brilliantly captures the essence of the imperfect human experience, and in doing so, it achieves perfection on the stage”, they stated.

Newspaper critics and viewers alike agree that Hamilton is a must-attend this winter as it kicks off its performances all over America.
