Originally built as Loew’s State Movie Palace, it was designed to impress with gilded ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and sweeping balconies. Decades later, that original grandeur is still intact, but behind the scenes, PPAC is a state-of-the-art performance venue.

The building has survived decades of change and even near demolition. But thanks to the passion and dedication of the local community, PPAC continues to reign as one of New England’s premier stages. With 3,100 seats, the venue stages Broadway’s biggest touring productions, direct from New York City. Concerts, comedy acts, and arts showcases are also mainstays on the cultural calendar.
